School
In the spring of 2022, at the height of mass evacuations, our team realized that one of the most critical challenges for people forced to leave Ukraine due to the war was children’s education. Even in times of war, children have the right to learn, develop, and preserve their language, culture, and identity.
We brought together a team of teachers who helped Ukrainian children complete the 2021/2022 academic year. During the summer, we organized wellness and developmental programs, educational activities, and excursions that helped restore a sense of safety, stability, and childhood.
At the same time, we searched for and prepared a dedicated space for a Center of Non-Formal Education—a place that could welcome a larger number of Ukrainian children and allow them to experience unity, support, and belonging to the Ukrainian community, even while living abroad.
With the support of the Zimin Foundation, on September 26, 2022, we officially opened the Center of Non-Formal Education «International Ukrainian School UNION». The school has now been operating successfully for its fourth consecutive year, providing education to students from grades 1 through 11:
- • 2022 / 2023 academic year — 196 students
- • 2023 / 2024 academic year — 215 students
- • 2024 / 2025 academic year — 229 students
- • 2025 / 2026 academic year — 242 students
Thanks to the work of a highly qualified professional team, our students receive not only quality education but also comprehensive support, including:
- Education based on standards and curricula approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;
- Education based on standards and curricula approved by the Ministry of Education of Poland;
- Bilingual classes, with instruction in two languages to support rapid adaptation and integration into a new environment;
- A strong cultural community and language environment, enabling children to develop harmoniously in a safe, supportive, and welcoming space.
Strategy and Values
Our Mission: To create a supportive environment where Ukrainian children can receive comprehensive education and cultural enrichment. We aim to strengthen their identity and pride in their heritage through the study of history, traditions, and language.
Our Vision: To be a leading educational institution that prepares students for successful lives in an international context while maintaining strong ties to Ukrainian culture, helping children integrate quickly and feel confident—even within Polish schools.
Our Goal: To provide accessible and high-quality education, promote the preservation of cultural values among Ukrainian children, and offer programs for rapid integration into the Polish education system and culture.
We collaborate with the following institutions:
- University of Wrocław
- Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in Lviv and Wrocław
- National Aviation University of Kyiv

In addition to the core educational program, the school offers dance classes, a theatre club, a preparatory (zero) class, and other educational courses. For three consecutive years, our school has also hosted the largest number of students taking the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) and serves as its official representative in Wrocław.
